BACFAD Changed Our Lives!
Two new chorister recruits, now pupils at Chetham’s School, started singing at Manchester Cathedral after Christmas. Nancy and Oliver both tried out Be a Chorister for a Day and were hooked! Oliver’s mum says: “I have never seen him happier than he is right now so you could say BACFAD changed our lives, and very much for the better!”
Both have been singing from an early age. Nancy was able to enjoy singing and instrumental lessons with Trafford Music Service until fundng was withdrawn for this provision. She sang with the Halle Children’s Choir but is really enjoying the family-like atmosphere of a smaller choir and the more intimate performances.
Oliver went along to a Manchester Cathedral BACFAD event before he was eight. Sadly his parents weren’t able to get him to the City Centre everyday but, to cut a long story short, the family has moved and Oliver (who is a keen horn player too) can sing in the Cathedral choir!
