Hereford Head Leads Choir Schools
Paul Smith, Headmaster of Hereford Cathedral School has succeeded Tim Cannell as CSA Chairman. He will hold office for two years and lead the Association through its Centenary Celebrations in 2018.
Educated in the state sector, Paul read Zoology at Manchester University before carrying out research on the behavioural ecology of small mammals at King’s College, London – he’s an expert on the Black rat!
He taught at Rugby, King Edward’s School, Birmingham, Haileybury and Portsmouth Grammar School before moving to Hereford.
“I’m delighted to be Chair of CSA and will be working hard to ensure that our association continues to provide a useful service to its members. We have just organised the second national conference on safeguarding and will continue to add a public voice to concerns that the EBacc will result in music being diminished within the secondary school curriculum.
“I look forward to helping CSA raise its profile as we celebrate the first 100 years!”
