Tasie R will also study Languages at Jesus College, Cambridge and Sarah K will read Engineering at St John’s College, Cambridge and has also been awarded a Choral Scholarship.
I’m so happy! It’s such a relief after so much waiting since the exams. I’m so grateful to all of my teachers for the support and it was really nice to have been able to build up the rapport with them over the years that I have been at the School. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without them.
Sarah K, former Canon’s Scholar and Student Leader.
Other top performers achieving all A* grades include Head of School, Ashley T who will study Law at Bristol; Academic & Music Scholars, Kimberli C-D and Rhian L who will read English Literature at Cardiff and Economics at Birmingham respectively and Co-Cricket Captain, Avaneesh S who will read and Computer Science at Warwick.
A number of students in the Class of 2023 are the last in their family to leave The Cathedral School and include Clara P and Rhian L who along with their siblings have achieved all A*/A in the Sixth Form.
Accompanying Eddie and Ollie to read Medicine next term are: Academic Scholar, Anika M at Liverpool, Co-Cricket Captain, Aryan S at Cardiff, Faris A at St Mary’s and Zain A at King’s College London, while former Canon’s Scholar Cathy R will study Veterinary Medicine and Science at Surrey and Football Captain, Billy G will study Veterinary Science at Bristol.

We are incredibly proud of this year’s A Level cohort and delighted that they have achieved such wonderful results. The Class of 2023 has embraced all opportunities that have come their way: they are vibrant, tenacious, and caring. These excellent results are a real tribute to their desire to rise to any challenge.
Mrs Clare Sherwood, Head of the Cathedral School
Mr Sherwood went on to explain how the results are very strong across a wide range of subjects with ten subjects achieving 100% A*/A grades – Art, Computer Science, Economics, French, Latin, Mathematics, Music, Physics and Spanish.
The sixth form was established ten years ago, and these are the strongest ever results. Excellent teaching and learning underpins everything the school does and these results reflect the support and guidance from the talented and hard-working teaching staff at the Cathedral School.
