Partnership programme

Following a pause in Partnership work due to COVID, the school is co-ordinating an exciting project for May 2022 to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of HM The Queen. This will involve two church schools and their associated cluster schools, along with the Parish Church, the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and the Church Army.  To prepare the CSL’s Assistant DoM is visiting two church schools this term to help  staff revitalise singing activities and prepare songs for their online Christmas celebrations. In the Spring Term weekly visits to other primary schools are planned to prepare for the Jubilee Celebrations. The project will culminate in a celebration at St Elvan’s Parish Church with the Cathedral School Chapel Choir leading the singing at an event which will showcase the music prepared by the primary schools involved.

CSL is also planning a series of workshops for instruments considered ‘endangered’. This will help bring instrumentalists from schools in the area to work with specialist musicians. The aim is perform a short, recorded concert, bringing about social contact as well as providing a platform for rehearsal and performance.
