Partnership programme

Ripon Cathedral’s Singing sessions target local primary schools Y1/2 and Y3/4 in alternating terms with a ‘Big Sing’ at Ripon Cathedral for Y1/2 in March and Y3/4 in June. The Cathedral also organises Choir Experience sessions in January and March. As with so many other partnership programmes this is all on hold but the team can’t wait to get back to ‘work’!

Until March 2020  there was also a Junior Choir for Y1-4 children and a Youth Choir for Y7-13, both open to anyone. No audition required, just a love of singing!

In addition to this Tracey Kendrick liaised with the wider community to establish links and opportunities for children/young people to sing at community event/projects – Remembrance concerts, Christmas fairs/markets, National Trust’s Fountains Abbey – ‘Fountains by Floodlight’ and link with schools to access music performances/workshops at the cathedral; this year at the Summer Organ Festival.
